Artist Biography

"Andrew Loly is an oil painter celebrated for his naturalistic portraits of reptiles and birds. His artistic vision is deeply rooted in the techniques of the Old Masters, enriched by his experiences with the subtropical wildlife of Southern Africa, where he spent his formative years. This unique blend has made his depictions of tropical animals highly sought after by both herpetologists and art enthusiasts. Currently based in southern Spain, Loly is passionate about leveraging his artistic talent to promote awareness and generate funds for global wildlife conservation initiatives. His artwork has garnered international recognition, featured in publications such as the Responsible Herpetoculture Journal. His recent showcase was in the Algarve, Portugal, in 2024. His portfolio includes paintings of Hornbills, Parrots, various other animals, and reptiles."
